Happy New Year

May this year be your best year yet!
Be a ‘A good year” — as man would see it:
With good health, and with prosperity;
With contentment, peace, and joy;
Fulfilling self
And growing closer
To your heart.

But even more, my wish for you
Is for a “good year” as God sees it:
With healthy spirit to see others;
And prosperity of grace;
Fulfilling soul
And growing closer
To your Lord.

Come, Walk With Me

Come, and take a walk with Me
Into the early morning mist,
When the trees are singing “Winter,”
And your hearts are full of kindness
Toward your fellow man.

Come, together we will talk
Of the coming Advent season,
When your minds are full of giving,
And you’re looking for examples
Of love toward others.

Come, and take a walk with Me.
Will you listen for My Promise
Of the coming of the Savior?
He’ll arrive in bursts of glory
At an unknown hour.

While you’re waiting, talk with Me.
If you’re willing, I will guide you
In the way that you should travel.
To ensure your spot in Heaven,
Believe in My Son.

I Give You Thanks

Lord, You have pardoned
All my iniquities.
You forgave the lies I’ve told,
And all things I have ever taken.
For all you have forgiven, Lord,
I give You my thanks.

Forgive me for any hatred of others,
And for the prejudices I once held;
People I have hurt with careless words,
And the many sins I’ve already forgotten.
Forgive also my stubborn pride,
And all my wandering thoughts.
For Your forgiveness, Lord,
I give You grateful thanks.

Plus, O Lord, forgive
All I should have done, yet did not see,
And those actions I purposely refused to do.
You have removed my sins from me,
And I give You thanks.

You do not hold these things against me,
Not once I had repented.
Instead, You have satisfied my years
With good things.
You have set the crown of Your love,
And of Your compassion,
Upon me.
For all these, my sins, O Lord,
I heartily give You all my thanks,
And all my praise!
