I Will Only Ask

I will only ask one thing of You,
That I may seek You each and every day.
I wish to view Your beauty around me
While yet I live and have my being.

I will loudly sing Your praises, Lord.
When I hear Your call I will come to You.
May I always respond, whole-heartedly,
“I’m here, teach me; I am here — send me.”

Blessed Are You

Blessed are you who are mourning,
For you shall become comforted.
For when life fades, Heaven begins,
And those you have loved are with God.

Blessed are all the peacemakers.
They shall be called Children of God.
Christ modeled how to live in peace,
And Jesus is God’s first-born Son.

Blessed are those who are gentle,
For they shall inherit the earth.
Where others fail, they will prevail,
They’re quietly faithful to God.

Blessed are those whose hearts are pure,
For they shall see God, face-to-face
Nothing comes to mind that compares
To being held in God’s own arms.

Blessed are those who are hungry
And who thirst after righteousness,
They will be satisfied by God,
And there’s NOTHING better than that!
